About Us

Co-founder

Kathryn Wood

Kathryn is a Communication Studies Graduate and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, with over 20 years’ experience in the Financial Services sector in Edinburgh. Throughout her career Kathryn has been a Business Continuity representative for several departments in global organisations. This has included having responsibility for the disaster recovery plan, coordinating offsite test activities and ensuring that business continuity plans remain current and appropriate. Kathryn has also been seconded into a Crisis Management Team, working with a senior executive group on how to handle large scale terrorist events from a business continuity perspective. In 2018 Kathryn set up her own Virtual Assistant company, offering flexible business solutions to organisations. Whilst discussing the lack of business continuity solutions for small businesses with Sam, they began to look at how they could work together to provide a simple but comprehensive business continuity solution to other small organisations. Kathryn is married with two sons and when not spending time with the family, enjoys reading, running and yoga. But not at the same time.

Samantha Goodwin

Sam’s career has spanned over 20 years in three different countries. A graduate of the University of Edinburgh, Sam began her career in IT in Edinburgh, before moving to Luxembourg to take up an IT Project Management Role with a Global Financial Services organisation. It was during this time that Sam’s involvement in Business Continuity became a large part of her role, and where her interest in the subject began. After becoming self-employed in 2009 and subsequently moving to Portugal, Sam and her husband Tim set up several successful small businesses, including Lean Greens, a well-respected supplement range created by Sam and Tim themselves. In Sam’s role as Operations Director for Lean Greens, she began considering business continuity options, only to find that there is a limited offering for smaller businesses. This led Sam to consider how she could use her experience in this area to help fellow business owners. In her spare time, Sam enjoys spending time with her husband, walking her two dogs, and mountain biking. But not at the same time.
